On this page you will find a whole host of messages, videos and photos from all of us in the Year 2 teaching team. We are all really missing teaching you, playing with you, running around outside with you, laughing with you, reading to you and having fun with you. We will try to call every couple of weeks to check in. We really love receiving your messages in the post and via email so keep them coming and we will try and reply to you all on here.

Miss. Kerwood will be updating this regularly so keep checking back every week for new messages and photos from us all.

Mrs Carter's brilliant birthday.
Last week it was my birthday, Mr Carter made me a full English breakfast in the morning and then we had a very blustery picnic in the park with my mum and dad at Elvaston Castle.  It was lovely despite my food nearly blowing away and luckily it just about stayed dry for us. We had homemade lemon drizzle birthday cake which was scrumptious delicious. For the first time ever on my birthday I watched my team, Leicester City, play in the FA Cup. I had got tickets to go to the match back in March but instead I watched it on the sofa at home! I thought because it was my birthday they might have put some effort in to win the match for me, but nope, they lost!
Moving on, I got lots of lovely presents from my family and the staff at Corfield! Miss K got me some yummy goodies including a jar or Nutella and some jelly which I love, (remember you can have treats as long as you exercise and eat lots of fruit and veg too) Mrs H got me a lovely pink diary with 'Mrs Carter' on it so I know that it's mine!
Maybe when we meet next week we can sing the birthday song for everyone who has had a birthday during lockdown.
Goodbye for now. Mrs Carter. X

Hello Year 2.

Sorry it has been so long since I wrote to you last. I have been busy behind the scenes trying to plan a time to see you all and prepare for the end of term. It's been a very odd time planning to finish for school when none of you are here with us. I am still missing you loads and I'm still so very, very proud of you for everything you're achieving at home.

I have been working hard but still managing to find time to do some relaxing things. Here are a few of my highlights!

I had a social distanced BBQ with my Mum and Dad. It was so hard not to hug them but still so nice to see them. They grow so many different fruits and vegetables in their garden and they let me have a little trip round to pick my own crop. It was so much fun, like my own personal supermarket! Mum and Dad also sent me home with some local free range eggs - one of them was HUGE and when I cracked had TWO YOLKS!! It filled my whole frying pan.

I FINALLY had a Nandos. I had been waiting and waiting to treat myself and then finally the day came - it was GLORIOUS!

I saw the most wonderful rainbow! We had a few rainy days and I was missing the sunshine so much, then a little glimmer of light came through the clouds. I rushed outside and there it was - a beautiful rainbow.

I have been trying hard at home to grow something. I have never been very good at it before but after some advice from my Mum and Mrs. Wilcoxson, I seem to be succeeding. I am now growing some tomatoes and some sunflowers. If only they made a cheese plant!!

I spent some time at my favourite park watching the wildlife. There were so many different kinds of bird there and most of them had young with them. It was so wonderful to see such a variety of birds all in once place.

Anyway, we can catch up again soon and I can hear all your news. I am so excited to see you all!!

See you soon Year 2,

Miss. K :) xx
