Corfield Church of England Infant School

School History

What we know...

The school opened as "Commonside Infant School" in 1902 for 190 infant pupils.

On 27th November 1903, Revd Claude Evelyn Lacy Corfield signed an agreement "for a school for the education of children and adults or children only of the labouring manufacturing and other poorer classes of the Parish of Heanor aforesaid and as a residence for the Teacher or Teachers of the said school".

The school was renamed after Canon Claud Corfield.
