School Work Week 8

Well here we are back again! HHHEEELLLLOOO YEAR 2!! We hope you are safe and well. Did you enjoy all the celebration work from last week? There was a lot to think about wasn't there - don't worry if you didn't do it all. It's a slightly lighter week this week.

Miss. K is VERY sorry that not all of your beautiful work is on the website yet. She has SO much to upload this week but she is getting there. It's all so fantastic, she has been blown away by how amazing your work is. Keep checking back. She will let your grown-ups know when it has been updated again.

There is lots to celebrate again this week. It is important to keep finding the positives during this time and celebrating safely at home;

  • Tuesday 12th is International Nurses' Day and Florence Nightingale's 200th Birthday.
  • Tuesday 12th is also Migratory Bird Day
  • Thursday 14th is Dance Like a Chicken Day!
  • Friday 25th is International Day of Families so how about a day packed full of wonderful family activities?
  • Saturday 16th is International Living in Peace Day.
  • It's National Vegetarian Week so perhaps try having a day with no meat?
  • It's also Christian Aid Week. What do Christians do to help others?

There were some fantastic VE Day celebrations going on around our local areas, let us know how you celebrated too!!

Here is your work for this week:

Maths: there is the Quick Maths task as usual as well as two other tasks for you to complete.

Literacy: there is one literacy task for you to complete for Migratory Bird Day.

SPAG: there is a series of activity mats for you to print and complete as many as you can this week.

Phonics: carry on as usual.

Spellings: there is the usual spellings lesson as well as a bonus wordsearch.

PE: I have uploaded the previous PE document to give you some ideas to keep active.

Music: I have uploaded the previous music document to give you some ideas to bring music into your homes.

Topic: there is some work on International Living in Peace Day and International Nurses' Day. There are also some Florence Nightingale activities for you to complete. Start with the INFO document and take it from there, there are some pointers on there to tell you which other bits to complete.

All of us in year 2 are still really missing you. Thank you again for all your wonderful letters - we WILL write back as soon as we can. Keep in touch and let us know how you're doing. Hopefully we will get to see you very soon. Check back on the BIG HELLO page later in the week for new messages from all of us, we hope you are enjoying knowing what we are getting up to at home whilst we are all apart.

As always we are very proud of each and every one of you for how hard you're working and how safe and positive you're staying. We can't wait to be back together to tell you to your smiling faces.

Grown-ups...THANK YOU. You're doing an amazing job and we can't thank you enough for the immense amount of work and effort you're putting in with the children. We know it's sometimes hard to motivate the children and we are sure it can be frustrating at times but you've been wonderful. Do what you can, make sure you're still making time for yourselves and email us if you need anything. Please make sure you've read and understood the GDPR update. Please remember if you are sending any photos/videos of your child, please make sure they do not contain their name/age due to GDPR. We can accept images of your child but will not display them with a name under or identifiable anywhere in the image. We can accept images of the child's work with a name but as long as it does not display the child. We hope this makes sense.

See you all soon, hopefully!

Miss. K, Mrs. C and Mrs. H. xx :)
